'Fluid' Final Smoke Sim
The final smoke sim for the film 'Fluid'. Had to make multiple layers of color grading in after effects to get a multi colored effect. Also had to paint a masking layer for where the smoke is emitting from the characters hair/head. Overall I am very happy with this scene and look forward to seeing the final edit.
Houdini Wire Hair Rig
For this project I worked in Houdini making hair for a 3D character in Casey Roberts senior film 'Unrequited Love'. This character was difficult to get done because of the ponytail. To problem solve this I split the geo into groups and applied the fur/hair to the groups (i.e. ponytail, hair and eyebrows). This meant I can control the spring constraints of each individual group as the ponytail required different parameters than the eyebrows. What is shown in this video is the guide groom linked to a wire solver. I used an attribute wrangle and gluetoanimation to link the wires to the scalp, these wires will be used as guides to control the real hair generation (HairGen). It's not done yet but I'm proud of the progress I made so far.
Vellum Cloth FBX
Progress for the film 'Unrequited Love', Dir. by Casey Ranae. I added the vellum cloth dress to the character geo. Mocap animation found on Adobe Mixamo, fbx converted to bgeo sequence in Houdini. Vellum solver uses bgeo character as a collider making the cloth mesh react against the skin of the character. Also split the character geo into material groups for the dress top.
